corner view ≈ wood

if you have about four minutes to spare, then do give andy goldsworthy the eye. he sure knows his way about (the) wood(s). amazing! and if i may add, do sit the viewing out till the very end, because that's where (the) goldsworthy comes shining through. the man has patience..., loosely pops to mind : willows are weak but they bind other wood. isabelle chose this week's theme in jane's corner view, hosted by fuoriborgo.

a BIG♥ thank you, corner viewers of the world, for all your encouraging words on the ongoing story of our kitchen. i agree, it will be well worth it, but allow me not to insert a before/after picture yet. i seem to have misled the reader a little by pasting pictures of a room under cv kitchen counter. the shell (is what i call our kitchen passageway at this very moment) will be popping up over summer, naked as it is, 'cos it's our main (read : only) exit towards the tiny garden. bear with is an option. all in due course, another.

  1. I love that movie. Goldsworthy's process is inspiring and humbling. It's striking (in the movie) how his patience and vision for his art have no analog in his personal relationships.

  4. Can't watch video clips, I'll come back when we get a real fast line in, what, two/four years time? By then, you'll be long done with your kitchen, and you'll be popping out to your garden while making soup to get some fresh herbs!

  8. I've seen that documentary, and I think it's time to see it again. I love the impermanence of his art and that it takes place in such interesting and beautiful settings. Thanks for the reminder!

  9. Thank you for introducing me to Goldsworthy. I envy the time he spends in solitude, creating, feeling the elements inside and out.
Today is dark and overcast, we awoke to a thunderstorm. As much as I appreciate a sunny day, I have to say that a cloudy stormy day brings me just as much energy and happiness. Yes, we are so connected with the seasons and the light and dark they bring.
