eight times a day {renov #26}

i've got it all planned. then life happens and i get a fraction of the plans done. because i've peculiarly been denied a proper kitchen for nigh on two years now (no, i don't count the camping stove i've used till now), i cook in batches, which results in ridiculous washing up races up and down flights of stairs (for lack of a proper sink), eight times a day. it's making the beatles blush! ☻

·
i trod along. nigellissima has been keeping the home fires burning and the senses longing (!).
·
we're pretty close now. next tuesday the new windows arrive, the fridge moves one flight down and the newly acquired second hand furnace will be adding to our daily excitement.

·
behind the proverbial screens, many other plans are running and some have been stalled. the tinyWOOLF shop is closed for now, but is percolating. the mentioned two sissi's are patiently awaiting in the sideline; putting it mildly, the project needs airing, and most of all time.
·
meanwhile another horizon is pushing itself forward. it's a happy one, more excitement, all in due course. i'll know better than to blab my tongue°. [°i do mean i'll hold my tongue].

·
are you getting curious? believe me, so are we. a nightmare of too small or too big windows has already occurred, but chances are things will be well. after the delivery, it's all hands on {plaster} deck again, so we're counting on a white christmas, besides glorious double glazed winter heat and last but not least, a working shower!
·
not that the one is particularly related to the other; the binding is in the plaster.

·
wishing you as much joy as we are currently hitting upon. let's say we bow to homemade ice cream and amarena cherries.
·
all those necessary breaks, right?
·
a renovation update with proper images is coming up!

  1. Oh I'm just as happy with these pictures! They are beautiful but still I'm curious;-) And I love the cat! I'm allergic to them which makes me sad, so I cuddle with the neightbours cat: Juultje;-) but I can't let him in the house. Wish you a good start in the new week and hope that al goes well for you and your kitchen!

  3. Again, when I look at these pictures and read the text, I'm wondering if a cat's life wouldn't be the more comfortable and relaxed alternative to mine...
And lucky you, already looking happily for the winter to come when soon being well protected by new windows...I sincerely hope winter will prefer to stay around your pretty house then and won't have the idea to buy Printen on Aachen's christmas market or visit the Dom, as my flat still has very lovely, but simple glazed and therefore very icy windows...

  6. First of all: I love your seahorse meets "Transformers" and the funny thing is, that I thought last week, I should draw/paint a seahorse - because I really love them.

Brave lady I can't tell it often enough: you are SUPERWOMAN. Really how you stand all this.
The good news you don't need to go to any gym (with the beatles..)
And your cat is too cute!

  7. oh happy days! (and i am in love with your cat. especially in that first photo of her. an amazing photo, i might add...)

p.s. the pelican in my post was sitting pretty, in contented and blatant disregard of the sign posted below him. i found him that way during a beach walk, and of course couldn't resist a photo shoot. he was happy to oblige :)

  8. sounds wonderful with the double glazed windows for winter ... but I don´t really understand the eight times dish washing (or races).

  12. That home straight of any project is hardest dont you think? Its so hard to stay focussed to the end but Im glad to see that things are finally being crossed off your list. Sometimes we have to put potential projects on the backburner because unforseeables will push well made plans out the window. I have had similar experiences over the last few years and frustratingly still have ideas simmering on the backburner but I will wait impatioently (I dont think I can do patiently) until the time is right to put them into action.
Your kittycat is very cute and cuddly and I was genuinely excited to hear that your fridge had moved a floor down.

    Have a great week Nads

    Helen x
