corner view ≈ motion

firstly, foremostly. you corner viewers rock! cheers for the 1974 comments from last week... i've got to say, i could not have imagined, in my 1974 mood and mode that, 'back' in the distant future, that very moment would be gently scrutinized as such. it warmed my ancient ♥. cheers!  grateful for this week's liberating theme too, cole! (on jane's corner view, hosted by francesca's fuoriborgo).

motion is a well stocked folder on my external database. rather, in my place i call it moving and moved pictures. occasionally dropping off an image, i have assembled a divine little private library, that soothes me if need be. for motion, i find, is the fibre of life. without motion, we would obviously be remote. without feeling motion, we could be shallow. without the adventure of motion, i would surely wilter. i don't think i can explain what follows. i don't even want to.

view from a train on a grey day filled with heavenly water
passing another train on that same grey day

a passer-by, clad in jeans, in ghent
boy diving, almost, in bruges
when starting blogging in 2007 (in flemish),
this was my very first header. ever.

actually, same train, 5 years onwards
(downloaded phone just now...)

  1. love your pictures in motion. would there be life without the notion of motion i am wondering...constantly churning the wheels spinning creating beginning and ending life. the round wheel turns. sometimes your on top, sometimes OUCH.

  3. reminds me of a song from my childhood...I Hear Motion by The Models:
    Now let it out
    Shout to the Night
    And so it goes
    I hear motion
    Just count it out
    Shout in your sleep
    And say the word
    I hear motion

  9. Love your words and photos dear!
Motion, ha what a great subject, we all wouldn't be here without it, it's a great comfort when feeling bad; everything will pass, it makes one feel so alive; fly, jump ,dance, it's beautiful to look at; sea, clouds, history, it can be slow or fast, big or small but is is always there, everywhere, XX

  12. Very, very interesting photos. I looked at the actual header of your travel-blog and again saw motion, saw the wind swinging the laterns.

Concerning St. Phalle: Yes, the newer work is indeed universal, as you call it. And overused. I'm kind of tired seeing that or copies of it. Of course it's 'easy art', sells easy.
And for me it's easy, when I'm teaching art in younger grades. It's so appropriate.
St. Phalle's earlier work and her ideas for universal stuff are much more, how to say 'artful'.

    greetings

  20. The travel motions symbol the inner motions, or the need for inner motion. I think we can substitute "motion" for "flow" at any given time.

Lucky for us you didn't quit blogging back in 2007!

  21. You, N, are at one with motion! (oh, everyone must tell you that:))
These are beauties, and you tell a moving story, which continues in each post...
Congratulations on your blogging history too, each moment a movement and a still...
These feel very cinematographic too by the way.
