drawing challenge NEW THEME : alice

when weary, i tend to put on this. it always does the trick, more so when the booming percussion sets in. it kinda takes me onto a different plane, especially whilest racing through fall landscapes on the train. perhaps i grow taller as i listen?

but the other night, i had this dream. it was an illustrious dream, from which i awoke abruptly. you so want to know where i was!

do you too have a take on alice? if so, then i invite you to draw us a bit of magic, any kind of magic, as an antidote for the dreary winterdays ahead. please leave your comment below. next weekend we'll hold our legendary mad hatter's tea party, so that we may ask riddles that have no answers and recite poetry that doesn’t make sense! i'll be serving all that you want. careful now, tea is hot! ☻

  7. Alice's dreamland must be an amazing place to visit. A young Stanley Tucci (Big Night era) invaded my dreams last night. I'll say no more...

  8. this would be perfect for CV next week, which is a secret still, but the theme comes from Tzivia :)
About the story, the best take for me is Jefferson Airplane's song "white rabbit", which a friend in high school was very fond of, and it's been connected with the book ever since for me.

  14. Nadine! Thank you for this journey in your dream and in your kitchen. I want to shrink, jump into your bright and whimsical drawing, sit and eat cake! I love it!!!!
I waited till the last minute to draw. It lacks "magic" but the entire week all I saw was Alice falling down that rabbit hole! It was stuck in my head.
What a great theme. I've really come to love the magic of that story. I hadn't read the book till last summer in NOLA. Only had I seen films. Why did I never read it as a child?????
Well, it's never to late, as we all children on the inside, really, and the stuff of such wonderful stories never gets old. I am so enjoying what everyone has to share. This is fun.
    Love,
    Rachel
