roomster

·
lovely word, innit?
·
roomster
·
i just came across it. just now. i walked through the car park, and there it was, on a car, of all places!
·
it'd be a nice name for a blog, i thought, or else it'd be a lovely blogpost title, would it not?
·
demystification though!
·
roomster seems to be all about revisions and classrooms! that's a bit of a let down. ..
·
now, can i still claim the word, a bit
·
{image: vintage statuette, reminding me of the house of mirth}
·
·
mama's peony makes me feel like rooming.
·
or would that be roaming now?
·
o'er hills,
through dales....
·
ha!
the summer holidays ...

  1. I'm afraid that my English... you know, that my English is nothing like enough,
    dearest Nadeschda! Roomster... hm?
I adore those movies like 'The House Of Mirth' (thank you!) and of course that delicate statuette and yummy Peony!
    Pretty, pretty.

    Love

  2. The roomster word makes me somehow think of a small furry animal, not a "house cat" but a "room hamster"...might be a type of vacuum cleaner, too. Or maybe a good-looking guy that does our house cleaning? Well, I don't drink alcohol or take drugs to get those associations! ;oD
But a very lovely word, indeed, my dear! Smooth sound when speaking it out loud. Did you know I'm collecting german words that sound good to me? I really do! Still very short, my list, but roomster would definitely be added if it wasn't english...well...artificial english...

  5. I too looked it up. There are other words from it like roomship, roomsicle, and roomskillet. The last word means you and your roommate get along really well. I have never heard of such words. There you go expanding my mind again, Nadine! (It's also a car --did you know that?)
I looked up your House of Mirth connection and think I will order it on my Netflix membership---it looks quite good.
I love your statuette photo and that peony---gorgeous! Lovely post.
