for your eyes only {renov # 28}

second hand cooker autumn in the garden rainy skies, but dry

round-up. with the second toilet downstairs came august rain and a ceiling corner leek from the above flat roof. the latter seems to have been tackled, holding my fringers crossed. part of a secondhand kitchen, a well loved and well used cooker flew our way, thank you to the generous obliger! a secondhand washing up sink fell through. twice. now i'll hopefully be getting a third one from another collegue. it's a seventies lady, which will be getting four legs, and will provide us with necessary running water downstairs. i suppose i could have put in a second tap leading from the washing machine? ah well.

often felt like walking out! ;)))

yes, there has been a lot happening in the background, i forget. luckily there's all of you always encouraging me. it's funny how i sometimes can only feel the progress through your eyes and voices... as if i need to stand back, listen and then see all of it, through new eyes. so thank you, gang out there, for your eyes! you've been the best audience, even when activity here dwindled down to next-to-nothing. my next post on this adventure will take awhile. as you may have noticed, alot of necessary plastering to do, which will hopefully lead us to white heavens once again.

front of house!

·
there's two huge cupboards coming home at last. they are the very last refugees to this, our ridiculous two-year-moving-crusade.
·
these biggies couldn't make the downstairs hallway-into-rooms-bend. now they'll be received, flat-on-their-backs, through the big, big front room window.
·
i can't wait to kiss them {just hope the builders from across the road don't witness my act of folly}.

·
the landings are crying for paint. of course they are. i hear them. i s-h-u-s-s! them. all in due course, and do not rush me!
·
i honestly don't think i will ever move again, and i don't think i will ever re-no-va-te again.
·
at least,
i-do-not-think-so. ☻

  3. I really enjoy watching those beautiful pictures - I was living in Roubaix (France) and your home reminds me of these houses and the sky, too.
    Hang in there!
It´s gonna be a great home, you´re a lucky one never forget!

  6. Even though the landings need painted, they have to be happy about all that light streaming through lovely, energy efficient windows---'they' and you and son will stay warmer also (I love personification! He He!)
I think your front hallway looks quite nice---no more green, right?! That must feel good to see brightness!
Love the front of your home. Don't forget to have pride when you come home to it---you have much to be proud of. :>)

  7. Brave one! No need to move or renovate again when you'll once have finished (Okay, did I say finished? Be strong, dear, a house is never finished of course, but at least you don't need to worry about some huge things again such as your new windows! I mean, you have to care about some things once and never again if it's done.). Very good solution to use 2nd hand devices for now. I took some very old late 70s fridge and cooker along when I left my flat share and they're still doing a very good job! I'm looking forward to your white (plastered) heaven!!

  12. It is so hard living in a renovation, but before you know it it will be done and you will love it that much more having gone through what you are going through now. :)

  13. Sounds like you won't be able to move again: once those biggies are in, who's going to take them out again?:)

  15. It's all looking marvellous! You took on a huge job but once it's done you will be able to enjoy it all the more you did it and survived and learned all sorts of new things along the way. I wish I could give you some help with painting your landings but I have to paint 20 or so paintings for Dec 1&2. Take care. xo Carole
