in the last vendela vida i read, there is a phrase that captured my attention, in view of this week's cv.
·
'koray looked at the sky as yvonne followed his gaze. three clouds formed a row of dots like some ellipsis.'
·
in the context, i'm sure, it had its proper meaning, but in general too, we all know what is meant by {...}

in my mind's eye though, i saw these three clouds hanging, and thought i'd rustle up an image for the occasion. a little more daunting than i'd imagined. while the clouds picture bank is profusely filled with silly ones, there prooved to be few three dotted ones.

on the subject of clouds though. {now you got me talking...}
·
are you familar with the amanda filipacchi novel VAPOR?

in it, the protagonist carries a cloud in her handbag, and the excellent thing about it is, it all reads so plausibly!
·

oh how i want a cloud for my handbag!!! and this sky for today!
ReplyDeletebut now i'm off to find amanda filipacci novels xx julia
Oooh I want a cloud for my hand-bag too. It would come in very handy for impromptu snoozes(as a child I always dreamed of sleeping in a great big fluffy cloud)
ReplyDeleteWill definetely hunt down Amanda Fillipacci.
btw I love that vintage illustration very much Woolfy x
I love the sky, the clouds ....
ReplyDeleteand I am going to check out this fellow greek person ; )
Handbag-sized clouds sounds good. That means they cannot take over the entire sky. Gotta leave some blue for us to gaze at.
ReplyDeleteNicki
What a pity we don't have such a beautiful sky today, otherwise I'd go out at ONCE and catch a cloud for my handbag! But today our sky is just one tremendous cloud, and...well..I DO have a large handbag, but not THAT large, you know? ;oD
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile I'm back from Paris, so drop in, I just started my slide show! ;o)
Did you see me waving out of Thalys when I rushed through Belgium??
Do you know the song that Carly Simon sings that says, "Clouds in my coffee"? Now I keep singing to myself, "Clouds in my handbag. Clouds in my handbag..."
ReplyDeleteVery fine rendition of the theme. Serendipity with your readings.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention pretty fine photos of clouds!
First photos are really nice . . .
ReplyDeleteA cloud in my handbag is intriguing. Like everyone else, I will have to hunt down this author's work!
ReplyDeletevery nice cloud ellipses (and what an interesting illustration - almost a bit van gogh - perhaps it's the color choices?) and now all i can think of is the lines from a joni mitchell song:
ReplyDelete"I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all"
yes, that cloud in handbag image is very seductive. you did well finding the sets of three too. no clouds here in l.a. today after 3 v. cloudy days.
ReplyDeletekeepin on the sunny side......xoxo!

ReplyDeleteNadine,
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you how much I love your store? And your monogram?
Don't ask me where I've been... I don't know, really. I'm with a new computer though. It's slowed me down a bit, still getting used to things.
Your store. I have wanted to talk about your store. It's so wonderful and I am so excited for you. You did an amazing job with your craft, the photography, all of it. It's eye candy.

Terrific photos, Nadine! I too would have difficulty finding just 3 clouds together. But you succeeded admirable. That last photo/illustration is dazzling and fascinating--I look at it and see a new detail I missed before. Fun, upbeat post!:>)
