i wish i had made the ice cream myself. but since the ice cream maker has been wrapped up in a storage box, i storebought half a litre of ice cold pecan~caramel softness, and ladled me some from there.
at least i got to use my new vintage ice cream scoop (above) i am practically in love with. although the old sylvester (below) does still give me a thrill as well.
i hope you are all having at least one scoop today! and bon appétit. more vintage here.

OOh I have always wished for a really hardy metal icecream scoop!!!! The yellow one is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI love them both! Does the first one with the moving part actually work to push out the icecream every time? I've never used one of those fancy types before!
ReplyDeleteWe had one of those when I was a kid and we also had a local ice-cream factory that made the bestest ever honey ice-cream - I can still taste it ... I love the way your photos elevate such simple objects.
ReplyDeleteOh we had a gorgeous vintage style sterling silver ice cream scoop when we got married but it has disappeared in a move?? We now use a Tupperware one, not totally exciting but gosh it works beautifully. Love Posie
ReplyDeletei have one of those old scoops but nowhere near as good condition as yours. yum!

ReplyDeleteIts been a long time since I've enjoyed really good ice cream. The old scoopers worked great on hard frozen yummy treats.
