corner view ≈ countdown

why, yes! we're counting down to september, of course, the fairest month of all, in my opinion. my countdown to september starts in july. and with this morning's cleansing chill around the house, i can but say, september, bring it on!

in a broader sense we're gently counting down to christmas, too. that countdown usually kicks off in june, when i realize another calender year is halfway through.
·
last but not least, we're counting down the the two sisi's adventure. did i tell this would start soon?
·
how about your own countdowns? jane's corner view, francesca's hosting, nicki's theme.

drawing | circus

·
i didn't know about arnold circus until last night. i ran an old taped program on london streets, and there it popped up, in all its round square gorgeousness. tucked away in the east shoreditch area, it is a magical neighbourhood, where sustainability becomes tangible, in its small townish, old time feel, filled in by a contemporary mob. when next in london ...
·
... for now, different circus acts, over at helen's. tinyWOOLF must rest now. all this stretching!☻

corner view ≈ emotion

·
swamped with it, to be honest. trying to keep a view on the wood for the trees. which might be the wrong quote, but you catch my drift?
·
bell an i are planning an original woolfenbell project. i will be sharing its development over the next coming months.
·
neither bell nor i know exactement where this thing will lead us. all we do know is, a vintage queen or two will be involved, and the enterprise will be full emotional, from imminent beginning down to the crucial end.

drawing | playing {a wild} card

as a youngster, i hated playing card games. i feared the competition involved, which i still do. my love for playing cards design has only grown though, a longing easily redeemed in any likely thrift shop. i let myself get inspired by beautiful deck backs. what a challenge to translate its shape and design into my drawing book! as i was looking for meditation, i truely found me some. ariane sure has us all sit around the table, playing alice of sorts. luckily this game i love playing with you all. ♦

contained

had i better not laid my lenses in their tiny cases, instead this prickly cornflower?

♥ albeit there's a reason for her short clipping. i tore the flower from the ditch the other day when i was feeling blue, and let her slip inside a tall glass. she was happy. i took some beauty shots of her, and by mistake then threw the glass over the table. the flower got her stem crushed under the heavy glass. i had to trim off her limb. i've felt both saddened and heartened by her presence, for she came into my life at a moment of doubt, and now she symbolizes change. accidents will happen, but we do go on. ♥

plenty of demos to be found on youtube
·
once bitten, forever smitten. it's tania who urged me to go out on the streets and push things forward. it's what i've done, i'm such a good girl. ☻
·
don't let the outcome fool you into the belief this took me long either. it didn't.
·
[not counting the months before, in which i folded, threw out, came back, folded again, tore up, ... you know.]
·

·
one could fold oneself a bookcase full of booklets. ..
·
enjoy your sundays!
·
more booklets via norma. cheers! ♥

'carp the diem' *

dear readers, followers, friends

here's me, taking all this good and sound advice of you all into good practice: i've sliced me some cake, i've brewn me the tea, i've even opened that bottle of complex-in-the-mouth red wine, and having 'em all at once, further indulging in your kindness and precious time. there's no end to my gratitude to you all, dear readers, on my path to a house called home. i have learned so much already, owing the learning curve to you all too, forever listening to my zen blaming, and handing out recommendations like pros.

you all realize, of course, you will be living inside these walls as well, as soon as i'll pull up my legs under my 'hind and look at all these efforts of late. my heart is filled with the greatest happiness, thinking of that. and thank you ♥
* as heard on {the cafe}, my latest craze, as you may well know. this bittersweet life!

this house ain't talking zen no more {renov #25}

·
i'm not kidding. i'm down to the last downstairs room to be renovated and i am glad. who wouldn't be?
·
still, it has been far from clear skies, and like the rain that has fallen excessively lately, my moods fell accordingly.

·
today wasn't a good day. the walls in this dwelling are old, too old. they should have been fully replastered.
·
what i'm doing is, doing the old plaster up. it has the advantage the dust stays manageable. the biggest downfall however, these walls are a-l-i-v-e.

·
thus i was rolling my pin over a moon landscape {craters, dales, hills}, when all of a sudden brown dust starts flowing downwards. like blood, like a flaming river, it kept coming.
·
dust, horse's hair, starched plaster.
·
i stared at it, i stared at my roller. i kept calm, but didn't carry on. it dawned on me. i'd had enough!

·
there i stood, on that ladder. how many thimes have i mounted that pesky ladder? as many times as i've pesky descended it.
·
and guess what?
·
i'd had enough.

·
what with this internet keeping me from updating my shop too. i've had enough.
·
all this daily pocket worry, preparing new booklets to be added and none of it.
·
there's only so much any person wants to take.

·
and now this house starts vomiting too!
·
so now we've had enough, this house and me both
·
so today, we quit.
·
we've had enough.

·
guess what we're doing tomorrow? ☻
·
·
·
·
on a different note though.
·
we are coming closer to before & afters.
what a long haul, hey?
·

drawing | crow

·
crows are black as ravens, that's why our thumping hearts hold the ravens {/crows} in, so the tower would be kept from tumbling (oh, england, my lionheart; kate bush).
·
i don't think any research has pleased me half as much as this one on the crow. despite its unpeachy characteristics, the crow is an immensely popular bird! i may have learned a thing or two on crowing. ahem
·

·
what would happen if you shot one crow?
find out, over at carole's! cheers ♥

2012, ghent, ham, hollyhock growing up against façade

there's nothing like a flower blooming, i think we can all agree on that. when i encountered this beauty in the streets, just last saturday, i stopped in my tracks, and took her portrait. afterwards, she whispered, thank you, that was my highlight for the dayjane's corner view, francesca's hosting, cole's theme.
