when son was smaller we shared a passionate tradition. each saturday night we'd watch a (blockbuster) movie at home. we'd slump right down in comfy chairs, in wintertime we pulled the blankets up to our chins and we'd nibble party food. it's a lovely little something we imitated from
here (don't miss the coloured goodies on those tables now!). it was, probably still is, one of my favourite films, these days rather for bob hoskins than for the ladies. which reminds me, mr b is grand in
this movie!
i am very much looking forward to visit all of your corner view traditions. i'm a sucker for tradition, really. it is what shapes us, what sticks to us, which defines us. son these days is rather declining the whole party food business, but it might have something to do with the fact we have no kitchen at this very instant. soon though...☻
cherry b thought up this delightful theme, corner view original idea by jane, hosted by theresa.
Thats' a nice tradition I share. I didn't see Felicia's journey... so, thanks for the idea.
ReplyDeleteNext week, I saw Inception... Do you like this movie ?
What a lovely tradition! And Mermaids of course is also one of my favourites!! Still in love with the if-you-wanna-be-happy-scene!
ReplyDeleteMy little brother and I once had the tradition to go and watch the annual christmas film for children in the cinema on christmas morning, for instance The Muppet Christmas Carol! I loved that!
Hmm, well, maybe I should watch a good movie this evening?!
this is a great tradition, we share it when it is cold outside on WE!
ReplyDeletehappy corner day
such a nice tradition!
ReplyDeletehow old is your son now?
No kitchen before Christmas? You are a very brave Girl!
ReplyDeleteI love your tradition of watching movies with your son. I used to have similar tradition with my partner: we used to watch a horror movie every Friday. It also used to be the only time of the week when we let ourselves eat junk food and sweets. Old good days ;)
Have a wonderful day,
Kasia
HHeerlijk!! Ik hou ook zo van tradities..wat is dat toch? Dat heerlijke gevoel van traditie...
ReplyDeleteen een warme groet terug! Fijn om elkaar weer te "zien"
ReplyDeleteexcellent tradition my dear!
ReplyDeleteoh, waouw!
we do that sometimes with mister J (6yo), but... on friday ;-)
great tradition ... I will keep the idea for next week end !!
ReplyDeleteThat's something I really wish I could do with my boys: watch movies together. But we have no tv (no reception) and no rental shop nearby. Well, we can still have the party food:)
ReplyDeleteWe used to do that too, rent a movie and snuggle up the gills. Such a sweet family tradition (:
ReplyDeletemaybe not so much cooking and shopping for you but i hope santa brings you a nice new home for xmas!
ReplyDeleteI'm all about tradition too....Your son is such a handsome boy, young man! Are you ready for Christmas? how much longer ?you have heat now don't you?
ReplyDeletesounds like a very cosy tradition :)
ReplyDeleteThat's something we do sometimes with the boys !! So on those days, it's a real party time !!!
ReplyDeleteHere, we combine the movie watching with eating in front of the television set. For shame! (About once a month, is that enough to build a tradition on?)
ReplyDeleteI love this tradition. A wonderful memory for your son!xo
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful tradition. I'll bet he will always remember those times.
ReplyDeleteOh, we loved family movie night too! (Still do.) Hope you're able to have your new kitchen by Christmas!
ReplyDeleteha en dat is precies wat wij ook doen met de oudste, bijna 9, heerlijk filmpjes kijken, tegen elkaar aanzitten en dat dekentje ontbreekt deze tijd van het jaar ook niet bij ons!
ReplyDeleteMaybe santa's got a kitchen in his sack? I think your tradition is perfect - my kind of thing :^)
ReplyDeleteMe too, I'm not that good at traditions... but I share and love this one!
