let's hear it for VRM. VRM is a person, unknown to me, but the person did leave her/his initals on the back of this one find i'm showing off today, for it happens.
you find an object that totally enthralls you. and to show it off against other finds would demean its grandeur. well then. here's holy fish, as in a fish with tiny punched (i'm guessing with the back of a pencil) and colour filled holes. it lay obtrusively amongst rubble. it shone right into my piercing eye. and it came home with me.
it wouldn't scan properly, for it is bulgy |
VRM, you made my moment, and now you shine. so, who the hell are you? sophie's flea market finds today.
hello lady, thank you for visiting my silly little blog. Any thing that encourages rebellion is right up my ally, so i'll follow along. Also- Belgium is so on my hit list!

Oh but holy fish is rather grumpy looking - perhaps he is old and tired of being sans H2O ? You have such eclectic tastes dear woolf - I am sure he will be a happier fish now that he resides with you!
ReplyDeleteInthe first picture it is a big iced gingerbread fish speckled with smarties i want to eat, in the second it escaped into the ocean. very cool find!
ReplyDeletethe more I look at your fishy the more I like it...I've scrolled up and down quite a few times to check him out...glad he has a new home too.
ReplyDeleteAh don't you just love art creations, marked by an unknown. Sad, really, that such artwork ends up in charity shops, but rather that, than in the dustbin, for YOU get to take little fishy home :)
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Sue... he looks a bit grumpy. Maybe you'll turn that frown upside down... hehe. I like the effect that you got trying to scan it, it's pretty neat.
ReplyDeletehappy birthday to your little man Woolfie! i like your little holy fish. makes me think of a genies lamp, a treasure in the rubble...something magical awaiting in those jewelled holes! did a little kid make it? even better!
ReplyDeleteHow amazing is that to find someones initials from so long ago.....Love your funky fish. I'm dying to see Mr Deer!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Max, but was thinking more along the lines of skittles...
ReplyDeleteI see the fishy made it as a header!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! What a lumpy and grumpy fish.
ReplyDeleteI think I will have to toddle over to Belgium and have a look at your house when it is finished. That fish looks very mid centur ygerman or italian. I quite like it.

ReplyDeleteGreat to find a holy fish!
ReplyDeleteV R M could it be a message from your fish?
Telling you what he likes to eat? Vish-ysoisse, Ring shaped things, and Marmalade?!
Happy days with your new new friend. I found an Eco-fish once, not long ago and he enjoyed life out on the laundry line for a while in the sun, and now he's inside with the goldfish:)))
Post a silly post and you get a silly comment:))

ReplyDeleteA Very Rare Moment.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a message from your fish. What could it be, do you think?
VRM certainly has a way of inspiring a sense of spiritual mystery. The more I look, the more I grow fond… I'm glad his storybook look swam your way!
