end of year traditions ~
we used to not have halloween jitterz at all, until we did.
we still have no thanksgiving, but early december we do welcome sinterklaas, who brings toys to all children small and good
we burn home candles, scented if we're feeling luxurious.
we plug in the occasional tiny-led-lights-fixtures. we bring what little light there is inside.
i actually love the weeks running up to christmas. when the days arrive, i kind of flee.
jane's corner view, francesca's hosting, holly's theme.

  3. Oh do you know I have a thing for VW's even though this Gypsy hasn't owned one yet . I was actually due to be born on Christmas hence the name. I didn't arrive til the day after New Years. Thanks for sharing your Christmas traditions. Happy Halloween.

  4. I've always wanted a VW bus. Is it yours?? I use a lot of scented candles myself... with 7 pets, I need something to make my home smell less like my pets :-)

  5. I love the red VW van--so bright and cheerful! The pink VW bug is cute too although I can't see me having a pink car---just not my color. My favorite car color is red, but over here those can be cop bait and I'm a speedster, so I stick to taupe, white, or black. No gray -- a long story for that--some time maybe. I think you'll love my very American tradition--the pumpkin festival! For real.

  6. Yes, i love the weeks before christmas and the advent - but i don't get halloween at all ... i mean, there's no bunny, no fairy, no santa, no supernatural creature to expect!! :)

  7. me too. i love all the prep but the actual day has always been a bit of a letdown. the english do it better with boxing day and new years day and epiphany. closing everything down for two weeks helps!

  8. I came here earlier and enjoyed your great car series, now I'm back to leave a comment: I want the one in the middle, please. I mean: PLEASE! We had such a 'Bulli' in my childhood days and went on several vacations to Spain or Sweden, wonderful early holiday memories! My parents say, if I couldn't fall asleep, they just had to put me into the bus and drive around the corner, then I slept immediately...so maybe this was the beginning of my car-enthusiasm! ;-)
And: I'm always looking forward for christmas, one of my most beloved annual traditions!

  9. Jolly photos!!! This year the warmer weather has me enjoying day to day rather than jumping into Christmas since September. An occasional Christmas tune and egg nog but it's different. We'll see how it all turns out.

  10. Hello! I reached here by scrolling down while seeing the past posts. Though Halloween is originally Celtic tradition, some Japanese “cosplayers” (those who enjoy costume-play like art performance) took advantage of Halloween. Most of Japanese are not Christian, but we enjoy Christmas. Strange? I like the spirit of giving and sharing, and love and forgiveness. I like the two-toned VW vehicle. Have happy days ahead.
