greetings from 'all over the place'

i usually look for pictures and images found for this column,
but i thought i'd share a few mementoes from home instead.
it feels as if i haven't been saying much lately, at all.
once again, i may just want to let the photos do the talking.
i invite you to tag along.

·
this spring time saw the going and coming of a few street characters. son's dad has moved to ghent,

·
... we got one of the cats. as a matter of fact, son's cat. i love necko. at the same time, i am not convinced of taking care of an animal, full time.

·
the first sunshiny days were spent outdoors, because thrifting was involved.

·
after a long winter of anticipation, we drove ourselves to the ronquieres inclined plane,

·
... settled for cheese and coffee ...

·
under the bridge,

·
and found a few thrifting items

·
... that cheered us.

·
in the meantime i noticed at intervals our garden did become greener and greener and occasionally threw up absolute beauties, such as dramatic midday shadows ...

·
... abundant blooming,

·
{even if these flower heads remain mainly neighbourly}

·
naturally, refreshments are compulsory. sometimes taken in the vicinity of a shaded corner of the house, {leslie! please notice the sista plate. is it?}

·
other times en plein public

·
joyously boasting about one helluva radiant and vintage picnic {thank you, bell}

·
as usual my eye saw things in the streets. this stork-in-the-wall never ceases to amaze me.

·
and, please don't ever think again the job of window dressing stops at pensioner's age {the lady in the window looked about 90 - do click the image. you will find her, stooping}.

·
all things come to an ending. it seems sad tulips always know what's coming to them. therefore they go down standing tall, i'm convinced.

·
as a matter of another fact, and fyi, ALL images are very clickable.
·

yes! our house is still standing tall too and itching to be dressed. the pace is rather slow. i have taken in full account all of the wise advise i have been given recently {a.o. by you, dear readers} and have taken time off grafting. today will be another day of lying about, doing close to absolutely ought}.

i am wishing you all the best monday ever. ♥

  2. Scare away the birds from grass seed has been worth, right?
    dearest Nadeschda!
    Looks really lush.
And that clematis, wow (do you know its a Bach Blossom against beeing too much dreamy without beeing in reality? Should I take a drop or two ;-))
Even your picnics and strolling and... shadows.

    Wonderful images. Thank you!

Today I'll remove a woodchip wallpaper... with you on my mind, my master.

  5. I loved this time with you and seeing through your eyes. I give insulin twice a day to one of my cats, so I figure that tells where I stand on the worth vs. care of a cat.;>) (I will keep sticking that needle into the bunched up bulge of his neck as long as he is happy and able to be kept well.) So enjoy your new resident and concentrate on the good he? brings.
The pictures are wonderful--I too am fascinated by that stork in the wall! Wow! ???
And the little elderly lady? Another wow!
Have a wonderful Monday, friend; I'm glad you're taking some advice and easing up a little.:>)

  6. i warmly approve of the new addition to your household. every home should have at least one cat, in my opinion, (or at least a very cat-like dog ;) and "necko" has a delightful face. (also a very flirtatious paw.) THAT PLATE! i don't know - is it johnson brothers? what is the pattern in the centre? they made several patterns - mine is called "old british castles." and now i am wanting a vintage picnic on soft green grass. (and i love your brave tulips.)

today is a holiday here... yours is the only blog i've seen as i've been busy napping and talking and watching shadows on the wall and listening to the wind in the pines...

  18. Last week i kept trying to comment and the wi-fi timed out over and over. I was trying to tell you that the third photo , the way the it is lit, catapulted me back to my childhood and my grandparent's house and summers spent playing in their yard. Then I said how I was homesick.Well, I am heading there, should be there on Sunday after sometime spent seeing friends here in Austin where I am tonight. What a difference a week makes!

    1. honestly, sweet tera? picture three? how courageous of you to keep trying until it finally works out to share your feeling. how powerful images and thoughts can be... your trip will be fantastic, and do keep us posted from time to time. i'll come find you too. fb, perhaps? anyway, i was planning a letter. perhaps you could even let me know about your actual mail address, same as for the blanket? do confirm it when you find the time. in the meantime, hail to cyber! and mazzeltov, or whatevva... ;)))
kisses to you all, and to your family while you're at it. i am already enjoying when we'll be visiting christo's latest together, not before 2015, i believe. because did you know? we're going together. aren't we...? ;)))
      and X
