"TRACK is a unique art experience in the public and semi public space of the city of Ghent. It offers surprising, enriching and unexpected encounters with the city, its history and its inhabitants and incites to reflect upon urban realities and the contemporary human condition in a broader sense. 41 international artists were invited to conceive new art works that are strongly rooted in the urban fabric of Ghent but link the local context with issues of global significance." more information on TRACK here.

working-class ghent sings in front of the camera.
two simultaneous screen projections, but one side always waits for the other side to perform.

Nadine, it's all so exciting seeing through your eyes! Ghent sounds like an interesting city to explore, somewhere I'd like to visit. Love the floating castle and that your ring is safely back with you. xo Carole
ReplyDeleteHey, Wolf, I do not know where to leave my comment?????
ReplyDeleteok I leave here. Thanks for stopping by my blog!! you are very kind! :)))))))))))
that is totally cool the castle! and your ring being kept safe too ;) but I am wondering about the open air library- what happens when it rains...do you get a soggy book?
ReplyDeletePS the search and destroy photo w/ fishermen is my favorite- thank you for the little tour!
PPS- also so glad you got the little rooster ok!! :D
true.
Deletethe books are on deep shelves, which helps, i'm sure.
but i fear they do get wet. or at least splashed upon.
but nevertheless, they looked pretty upbeat.

I'm in love with the open library, though I'm a little too practical not to wonder about how humidity affects the books ...

The open library!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the open library I was only looking at it the other day. Thinking how interesting the concept was. Im so glad your ring didnt float off on some other persons finger leaving you all deflated. Hmm I think I would like Ghent I would also like to have coffee and cake with a stuffed stag overlooking.
Thanks for the post Nadine
looks very interesting and lots of fun
cheers
Helen :)
I just reread this and it sounds like I was at the open library but I was actually looking at it online.....unfortunately inperson sounds a much better option ;)
DeleteWhat an incredible post...I'm off for another look!
ReplyDeleteTRACK is great, the open library!!! I would like going to ghent! but first I have to go to documenta 13 in kassel, it's "only" 200 km from here!
ReplyDeletethank you very much for your comment to my boxes. I love your association of "little beds, filled with thoughts.."
and I love your non-dominant-hand-picture and your before-after-self-portraits - great posts! I missed a lot!
xx mano
Amazing and interesting! Thanks for sharing and the discovery!!!
ReplyDeletei am consumed with envy over that outdoor library/bookshop. and the concept of an entire city given over to art. and that gravestone, carved with roses. and the amazing artistry of a napkin, trapped, yet flying so bravely and beautifully in the summer breeze...
ReplyDeletegreat! what a ceiling, and what a nose! warm greetings from(too warm) Paris
ReplyDeleteFascinating. You do have unusual opportunities over there.:>) So glad you got the ring back. I hate when I misplace a favorite piece of jewelry--always feel like a tiny chunk of me is missing.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations ... is there gonna be a second part?
ReplyDeletehi hansK & cheers.
ReplyDeleteyeah, there is.
