they are funny things, walls. the eight years i spent in the previous house were marked by bare walls. i couldn't bring myself to decorate, since i intended to stay just a little while. now we have moved and hanging something on the wall is out of the question, for unfinished parts and pieces everywhere, i have grown truely, madly and deeply accostumed to bare walls. and enjoy those walls for what they are.
having said that, i can easily fall for stuff on the wall. let's dive into my photographic archive, shall we, and see if there's anything worth showing.

indeed. beside shadow play and light, and a cameo of younger son, that's it for the walls in the ol' house. this week's theme on my wall, coming from elsa, on jane's corner view, hosted by fuoriborgo.
absolutely stunning shadow shots!
ReplyDeleteI totally see the appeal of bare walls. It'll be interesting to see what you decide to do with these walls, once the renovation is complete.
ReplyDeleteJust wait! One day you will start with a first nail and then… have a nice day!
ReplyDeleteActually walls are never completely nude...
ReplyDeleteI use to put a lot of stuffs on my furniture or on the floor, but very few, almost nothing, on the wall (except for the baby's one).
Have a beautiful day Nadine!
Great photos, i love the first one.
ReplyDeleteBare walls, ideal to project dreams and fantasies upon ;) x
you really have some beautiful shadows :)
ReplyDeleteI was expecting to see a rabbit...
ReplyDeleteSo interesting all the different shadows....the one looked spooky!
ReplyDeletethose will do very nicely! fabulous light art! funny how quickly "a little while" turns into 8 years! can't believe i've had my "new house" now for 4. and i still have some empty walls
ReplyDeleteAmazingly beautiful patterns of light and shadows! Keep it like this, it seems to me a lot more variety in it than in always-stay-the-same-pictures! Instead of that you have changing walls with changing light! Very special! ;o)

Nice to see photos from your archives. Natural artwork with all those shadows and light.
ReplyDeletea lovely journey in time at your view of the wall!
ReplyDeleteThere is something to be said for leaving walls as is, and watch the play of light and shadow.
ReplyDeleteWow, who needs to drive a nail into a wall when you have light patterns like those! Anyway, blank walls are perfect for imagining on or into :)
ReplyDeleteIncredible images on your walls! That second photo looks like you're getting a spirit visitor---wow!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that one pattern is not an actual painting--all those designs--cool!
I like the twisted wood base of the lamp and your son is a cutie.
Love the orangish chiaroscuro of the first wall image. Though I ahve filled many of my walls with art of all shapes, sizes, dimensions and natures. Like Cage I too understand the power of space and silence.
ReplyDeleteLovely shadow shot's Woolfy, I'm quite partial to a bare wall myself, but have far to many pictures for that ever to happen :)
ReplyDeletewat een fijne, fijne foto's!
ReplyDeleteYour bare walls are real movie screens sometimes. I like the third photo, it looks like a view through a microscope :)
ReplyDeleteBare walls with light pictures!
ReplyDeleteI rather love bare walls too ... as you've pointed out even though they may not contain much, a wall is never really all that bare.
ReplyDeleteI very much like your 'stuff on the wall' photos.
xx
Amazing, we have almost the same photos!!!!hihihhi, great!!
ReplyDeletelove those photos with diferents designs, colors and shadows... you bare walls are amazing!!
ReplyDeleteZen :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images! I too love to watch shadows on the walls... :)
ReplyDeleteKers, I'm going to have to study these works of art(e) for sure. I'll get back to you! You know my love for walls!♥
ReplyDeleteAs long as there are windows,
ReplyDeletetheres never blank

❤
Beautiful photos, especially I love the last one, from the front room.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about bare walls- after time they becoming a habit and part of the house that it is really hard to change (for instance, our old house...)
Great photos here!
