the big lean forward

·
in WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING, michael rispoli talks to sandra bullock about the leaning. both he and bill pullman have an interesting theory on this leaning business, which translates itself into the movement one lover makes towards the other, aka as moving closer, bending down, leaning

as i'm painting a few walls in the downstairs through room, i musta been leaning a little on my roll, for the bugger broke off, with a loud crack. it was so comical, but really unfortunate too. i didn't have a spare roller pin.

you do not want to know how i tackled that problem, having no leaning man at hand...

  3. Duct tape - I use it for all repairs when Top1 is not available or whenever I do not WANT to lean (darn that independent streak). It does wonders!

  5. Sorry Woolf Ms. but You have me smiling here.
I mean, I know you are in a crisis there with your roller, but I have a feeling you've fixed it by now,
and are leaning on a nicely newly painted wall looking at your work and I hope you too are..
    smiling!

  8. Helloooo,
Feels like I'v had a day of smiles, and your words for me is one of the reasons. Now you just gave me another. I can see it, it's something that would happen to me, just 'snap'. I'm curious too, about the solution.

  9. It's a pity we are so faraway each other... I have two men at home, a collection of painting rolls (I kept buying them and husband keeps taking them to our house by the lake!)... and a tiny balcony half white and half grey since last Summer. I will try the leaning bussines and see if I can have the rest of the balcony white:))

  10. You're worth TWO leaning men put together - still, a Mr Muscle around the house can be handy I suppose :)

  11. You're definitely working hard when even your painting roll decided to quit! I give you an advice of a handsome man of my family, my one and only bro', who brought along so-called panzertape from his military service time...this tape fixes all and everything, believe me! Happy leaning, my dear!

Not so happy to hear of your broken paint roller... but knowing you, you found some very resourceful way to solve it...

youre so funny!......sorry to laugh in your hour of need but the connection between your broken roller handle and the leaning theory was entirely of your doing which caused me to laugh out loud then my husband wanted to read it even ol grumpy drawers thought it was amusing!!!

  18. Oh, what a delight this post is to read, even though your paint roller didn't survive. Those leaning men can come in very handy at times, but perhaps they're never around when we need them? ;)

  19. That is funny, but I am sure at the moment you didn't thick it to be so. I hope you were able to get your walls painted. Have a great weekend!
