LARRY, THE CASUALTY TEDDY BEAR

·
i don't know why, but when i find an all white vintage teddy bear, i want to buy it.
·
it needs to be all white though.
·
or cream.
·
this one i put in the machine on too high a temperature. his insides clotted all up. it wasn't a pretty sight, nor did it feel teddy bear like. clearly, i had to surgeon teddy.
·
i turned him right inside out. adjusted his eye sight, while i was at it. i pulled his intestines {pardon my french} apart, and stuffed teddy right up again.
·
i hope i didn't put his limbs where his brains should be, mind.
·
happy as larry again, he'll be dozing in some home corner, overlooking the chores-to-be-done, dreamily awaiting the arrival of fellows tom, dick and harry, presently still in hiding.
·
oh, those darn removal boxes!
·
here's what could be the opening page to our larry's story.
·
i wish.
·
tatjana made us think up a fairy tale story.
·
i LOVE.

  1. I love how the light catches in Larry's eyes. He is adorable and I can hear him sort of gurgling with happiness in his throat because he is so loved and taken care of. Your beautiful illustration could be the beginning of a little book. Truly. It could. Magic. *smiles* Norma

  11. This story remembers me another one. When my son was about two years old, his young uncle gave him for Christmas a red hooded teddy, and he told him tha was given by Santa himself, along with his telephone number.
Of course, he carried that teddy everywhere. One day, the teddy fell down from the pram, we made all the way back; but the teddy was not found, and he cried for days every time he reminded of it. He also called his uncle to tell him to phone Santa for another one. He promised he will do. About a month after, in the middle of the street, we found... only the body. He picked it up, and asked me if I could mend it. We took it at home and he made me phone his father and told him: "Today we found "Mollica's" (crumbs) body! Please, tell uncle Claudio to phone Santa's and ask him for a new head!"
Anyway, there have been a happy end. My brother in law, went to the city where he'd bought the teddy (about 200kmts from Rome) and for next Christmas, a new Mollica came home.
