drawing | who am i? {& kill your darlings}

from a sentiment to substantial evidence. when something becomes tangible, it can be so lovely, as in materializing a dream. i've been dreaming a lot, and i have been attempting to materialize those dreams. being cautious of the fact the outline differs from the original onset, any result at least allows for a less ethereal project.

·
there's the wholesome house. three floors begging for attention, receiving graftmanship mainly from one and a half pair of hands.
·
no disappointment, real slowness. in a compressed world characterized by ever increasing speed, i like to call this sanctuary my personal zen quarter. a hard lesson it's been {and is} though. a lesson i wouldn't have wanted to skip.
·
{image - fyi - NOT our house! ☻}
·
there's the shoppe, which has been floating. i hope only the eagle eyes have noticed the deadline shifting towards july 21st, this also being our national bank holiday. time to celebrate!
·

·
new booklets, new sets of tinyWOOLF notebooks, tons of cut out letters (huh?), postcards...
·
a few surprises, i hope.
·
please find here a sneak peek.
·
{more sneak peeks to follow}.
·

·
there's the old head, the one we've all got screwed on on top of our heavenly bodies. the head's been playing up. blaming it on the irresistible 5-0 nearing, i suppose general concern lies at the base, and cowardice and shortcoming, in my attempts to better the world {who do i think i am?}.
·
then again.
·
yet and curiously so. i sense intentions shifting.

·
there's the-being-a-woman-{and-a-mother}-thing-in-this-today's-world-thing. which may not be all too different from older-world-things. which has been on my mind, constantly. perhaps i should count it all down to tangibly sliding towards midlife. if we're lucky.
·

·
incidentally, this post started out scatteredly, with some thousand+ words. i've had to delete at least three quart. and now i am happy. writing is {the only place} where killing becomes truely gleeful.
·

·
i guess also, sweet reader-darlings... this is who i am, in a way.... patrice did put herself and us before a momentous task! interesting spell though... {and hell, i don't know why the queen of hearts is called judith! ☻}

  9. Hello Miss Woolf
    Iam willing that house to be mine I am feeling physical pain at the beauty of that entrance which my house is so far away from in terms of location and aesthetic.
    Iam drooling over your mappy letters as a self confessed type-addict and a lover of maps this does appeal on all levels as to c50.
    Iam feeling like Iam watching a movie with vignette of frames....nice!
    Iam loving the postcard with rhyming story and lovely eyecandy.
    Iam wondering no longer why the Queen is judith and just accepting that she is.

    Have a wonderful weekend Nadine...make sure you take time to enjoy some down time with a glass of relaxant and put those feet up as you say this is a slow process to right the wrongs that were put upon your house. It must thank itself everyday that you became its custodian and lets face it the work isnt going to go away so you make sure that you look after yourself as well as the house.

    Helen x

    I am shoppe building myself and ummmed and arred about whether I would go bigcartel or etsy I chose etsy in the end. My shop will be opening soon I must deadline it though otherwise I will keep putting it last on the things to do.

    I have an idea for a community shop but its still in its infancy but I will discuss further when Ive fleshed it out a bit more with my fellow bloggettes. :)

  13. I think perhaps the closer we move to the "1/2 way" point in life...or how ever we perceive that- many things come up- we are getting a clear look, the clouds part for a moment to gaze at life what we have done where we are going...You have a lot here- and I would say you have a full life- tempered with a sense of humor which is one of my favorite ingredients ;)

  14. Oh my dear Nadine (aka the loveliest Woolf I know), I have missed reading your delightful posts and your sublime writing. I am slowly emerging from a kind of writer's hibernation and doing my best to keep one foot in the writer's cave and one foot out in the world ... let's see how that turns out, shall we?

    I've been doing lots of dreaming lately, and while sometimes it worries me when my grandest dreams don't quite align with reality, I figure that some outcome or some step towards a dream is definitely a tangible thing in itself. Or at least that's how I've been consoling myself ...

    Ahh, looming birthdays (especially the 'milestone' varieties) can mess with one's head ... and you most definitely make the world a better place. Art and creativity are wonderful in themselves and create the most delightful of positive flow-on effects beyond that.

    I'd best not linger before my ramble becomes even more ramble-y. Until next time my dear... take care.
    xx

  18. I have been here several times and now will comment. I so enjoy going for a word and picture walk with you. Your post reminds me of the comic in our Sunday paper called "Family Circle." One of the 4 kids, Billy, sometimes goes on an errand for mom. It can be from the kitchen to the mail box on the front walk, but he doesn't go in a straight line. He has to climb up and down on things, detour to the left and right such as going out of his way to jump a puddle or sliding down the slide, etc. I always enjoy tracing his route because it is tricky (he doubles back, goes in circles, etc)and entertaining.
    Your posts are entertaining and enlightening. Thank you, friend, for sharing you with us.
    I would not be so brave as to show a series of shots of my arm although it also appears to be part of your kitchen, but then then my arm is much fuller than yours(sounds better than fatter, huh?!). Awesome postcard drawing--you make me want to start drawing again!:>)
