i once had a friend who painted hairdos. he exhibited his tableaus and made him some name.
·
·
on my commuter into the city, i've taken to drawing hair myself. whenever i see hair that intrigues me, i sketch the outlines into my booklet.
·
·
i work quickly for i don't know when the person will get off the train. {the model in question doesn't know he/she is being drawn. for privacy reasons, i don't usually draw facial features, unless...}.
·
·
{... the occasional profile}.
·
before long and in a mildly meditative state {tongue in cheek, or else pressed between lips. yes.}, i push lines into a coiffure.
·
·
seemingly hair is also leading me back to corner view.

hello and welcome back! as a child, i had a puzzle which was very similar to your #1 - oddly, it was surprisingly easy to put it together!
ReplyDeleteI love them Nadine! I never seem ta dare sketching when other people around...I don't know how you people do that!
ReplyDelete(this last one is pretty peculiar,no?)

ReplyDeleteHello and welcome!!
ReplyDeleteSo great to see you and your hair do portraits!
Love the long and short of them!!
♡(with braids;))
My husband carries a sketchbook with him when we travel and likes to do fast drawings during our adventures, including interesting people we come upon. I love your portraits - great job!
ReplyDeletehaha! funny old road you're taking....love the last hairdo. so glad to know you're taking this drawing business a little seriously!
ReplyDeleteElvis!!! I like the thought of sketching hair. I tend to sketch eyes in long meetings. Next time I will try hair. (And hopefully NOT get caught by someone who outranks me!)
ReplyDeleteGreat hobby! I know it's fun doing sketches from other train users, I already did that, too! The first is my favourite, not only for the hairdo, but I love the atmosphere in it. I have to say I prefer those without any face, they have a strange certain mood, that I can't put into words, but makes me stop and stare on them. Go on, I'd love to see more!
ReplyDeletethese are very cool ... and welcome back Nadine :)
ReplyDeletegreat idea - funny hairdos you draw. I think, I'm the third model...
ReplyDeleteand I see, the wolf is back from venice! and you here - I'm happy about it. welcome back!
