corner view ≈ europe

the continent where one happens to be born in, is this where one's roots are? and is it so very different to other continents, besides climates? i'm always amazed at how similar our {corner view} thoughts run, whether we visit alaska, tasmania island, kazakhstan or indeed own the very bit of local ground we stand on. here's europe in pieces, long ago harbored by junior, these days frowned upon.

☻ jane's corner view, francesca's hosting, elsa's theme.

  2. Continents are like puzzle pieces aren't they ... According to the Pangea theory the continents were once joined and then broke apart like a dis-assembled puzzle.

    Great image!

  4. Love the geographic wolfie! Indeed, chance puts us somwhere in the world, but all toghether on the same world, no matter what is the name of the piece we are born in! And yes, continents in geologic times have been different (the pangea was only one of them...).

  5. The new wolf is absolutely wonderful! A wonderful exploration and mystery to try to discern one's roots. It is, indeed, like a puzzle. A very entertaining and thoughtful post.

  10. This puzzle is a very good idea and so true....we all come from these small pieces of puzzle. I was born and live in France but I've Italian and Sicilian origins and perhaps others, who knows?

  11. While I didn't touch upon this in my post, I was thinking very similar thoughts the other night about the whole world in general. We may live in different locations, but we are all very much the same.

  13. I wish I didn't have a homeland
I wish my homeland was the world
    I'm working on it
    It's like making a puzzle
    only more difficult

  14. Sometimes when I look at other corners it seems as they were so near...sometimes I forget that they are far...those differences are not real, and love it.

  15. Thanks! Roman did great! Looks like wolf got a makeover this week! Have a great weekend! I know I can't believe my son is going all by himself. Thanks to Lufthansa he can fly alone! They will just escort him through customs and hand him over to my mother-in-law. We just can't afford to go with the adoption and having to save to spend two weeks in China. I can't believe that next year I will be adding Asia to my list of countries, but more importantly a new family member.

  19. straddled between two countries on the same island being English, but having lived in Scotland for 13 years 'home' is an idea I regularly wrangle with. I think it to be less of a place and more of a feeling and yet how I would love a small space wrapped in green to call my own!

and even then im perfectly sure I would feel at home in north America..and especially Scandinavia...!

(ugh, I know! I nearly cried with joy when I stepped into the Edinburgh store..i thought i'd died and gone to pretty, albeit expensive heaven!)
